ATLANTA, Ga., August 23 – AAHOA’s (Asian American Hotel Owners Association) first Charity Golf Tournament of 2024, hosted by the Northwest Region, raised $105,000 to benefit five state and national charities, including  Autism Society of Oregon, Businesses Ending Slavery & Trafficking (BEST), Make-A-Wish Oregon, the Washington Hospitality Association Education Foundation, and the AAHOA Charitable Foundation. The event was held on August 20 at the Camas Meadows Golf Club in Camas, WA.

Some 140 players and over 30 sponsors attended the sold-out golf tournament. Terrance Wong scored a hole-in-one, setting the bar high for upcoming 2024 tournaments in North Texas on October 14 and Florida on November 6.

Through the generosity of its vendor partners, members, and sponsors participating in the Charity Golf Tournaments, AAHOA has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities that touch lives and make the world a better place.

“As hoteliers, supporting our communities is a priority,” said AAHOA Chairman Miraj S. Patel. “It was great to see so many of our members and industry partners come together for causes that will benefit our communities. I appreciate the hard work our Northwest Regional Director Taran Patel and the Northwest Ambassadors put into making this event possible.”

“Everyone’s contributions to this successful event are clearly reflected in the incredible amount raised for these charities,” said AAHOA President & CEO Laura Lee Blake. “Witnessing our community come together for such worthy causes, and their eagerness to support those in need, truly proves that we are AAHOA Strong.”

The event coincided with the Northwest Region Hotel Owners Conference & Trade Show. Also taking place before the conference, AAHOA HerOwnership hosted its inaugural Sunrise Soiree to honor and celebrate women hoteliers, and a HYPE Reception for the Young Professional community.
