In the City Where America Began, We Look Forward

April 6, 2026 by Today's Hotelier Leave a Comment

By Laura Lee Blake, ESQ., AAHOA President & CEO

There is something extraordinary about gathering in Philadelphia this April. It is a city that represents beginnings – the very place where a nation’s future was debated, shaped, and set into motion.

As America approaches its 250th anniversary, it feels especially meaningful for AAHOA to come together in the cradle of independence. As hoteliers, we understand what it means to build something lasting; our businesses are rooted in the same spirit of service, resilience, and community that defined those early visionaries who dared to shape what comes next. AAHOACON26 is more than a convention; it is a defining moment for our industry.

A Foundation for Sustainable Success

This year, our theme is clear: Profitability First. We recognize that true growth is not just about expanding portfolios or filling rooms – it is about strengthening the foundation beneath it all. Today’s owners face a rapidly changing landscape that requires sharper strategy and a renewed commitment to sustainable success.

At AAHOACON, that commitment comes to life through education designed specifically for this moment. This includes the Independent Hoteliers Summit, inspiring education sessions led by industry leaders, and the Kalibri Certif ied Hotel Profit Analyst (CHPA) session.

These programs are meticulously crafted to help our members master the drivers of hotel performance and enhance long-term asset value. By empowering our members with deeper insight, we ensure the independence and prosperity of the hotelier remains secure for generations to come.

Celebrating Our Shared Vision and Community

AAHOACON is also where our community’s vibrant spirit shines brightest. From the electric energy of our Trade Show to the meaningful connections made between sessions, this convention offers an unparalleled opportunity for every hotelier and industry partner.

We are particularly proud to celebrate leadership and sisterhood at the HerOwnership Session, a powerful reminder of how the next generation of hospitality leaders is rising.

To further inspire our journey, we are honored to welcome a prestigious lineup of General Session keynote speakers: Rahul Kapoor, Paul Brown, and Rajiv Satyal; and education keynote speakers: James Ferguson and Dr. Sudhir Mehta.

Their insights will challenge and energize us as we write the next chapter of our story together. I cannot wait to see you in Philadelphia, where history surrounds us, and the future of hospitality awaits.
